What can I say, one of the greatest beers ever made! Guinness is truly unlike anything you will ever drink. When you drink a Guinness Draught you will know instantly what it is. Even people that have never had one before will drink it and ask if it’s a Guinness.
Food Pairing: Nothing! Guinness is a meal in itself!
Rating: *****
I would recommend Guinness Draught to anyone who likes a smooth dark beer. I recommend that you drink one, give it a chance and drink another. The first time you try a Guinness Draught you may not be too crazy about the taste but you will acquire a taste for it after the first one. Also, you MUST pour this beer into a pint glass. You can drink it straight from the can or bottle now but the best way to enjoy a Guinness is by pouring it into a pint glass. I prefer a warm pint glass as it helps equalize the cold beer and for some reason seems to add to the flavor of the beer.

Tecate is one of my favorite Mexican beers. I really like the true hoppy flavor of Mexican beer and Tecate is one of the best. It is a heavier beer than a Corona but just as refreshing.
Food Pairing: Well I ate 7 tacos with 2 Tecate’s. Enough said!
Rating: ***
I would recommend Tecate to anyone that likes Corona Extra or Dos Equis Lager.

WOW! That is one word to describe this beer. I really enjoy the various offerings from Sierra Nevada and especially this one considering that I really like Hefeweizen beers lately. So far I have to say that this is quite possibly the best Hefeweizen beer that I have tasted yet!
Food Pairing: Fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gavy and baked beans. Well that’s what I had!
Rating: *****
If you like any type of Hefeweizen beer then you will LOVE the Sierra Nevada Kellerweis!

Drinking the Anchor Steam and it is pretty good. I had this beer once before when I was mainly into my Miller Lite stage and didn’t care too much for it. That tells me that my palette has changed because I like it now. It does have a bit more bite than I would normally like and has a bit of a bitter after taste but other than that it is a keeper.
Food Pairing: Fire Hot chips! That’s what I am eating with it. You know, the Jays Hot Fire chips?? Good combo!
Rating: ***1/2
I would tell you to try this beer if you like most Indian Pale Ales. Fits right in!

The Magic Hat #9 tasting at Jack’s Bait Shack went great tonight! This beer is one of my all time favorites and I know that all the people that tried the beer tonight will strongly agree!

Jack's Bait Shack

I really appreciate everyone showing up to show their support and I can’t thank Jesse & Johnathan with Magic Hat Brewery and Jack’s Bait Shack enough for making this great event possible!
Food Pairing: Well I was talking wit Josh and Jesse of Magic Hat and I think we all agreed that we could totally house some buffalo wings while enjoying this great beer or even some good seafood or chowder!
Rating: *****
The Magic Hat #9 is a “Not So Pale Ale” and that is true. It has it’s very own unique taste but if you enjoy most types of Ales then you will REALLY enjoy the #9! I also got a tip from my Magic Hat brothers that I should try a ‘Black Magic’. I highly recommend this as well! Half Guinness, half Magic Hat #9! Delicious but I will still stick with the standard #9!

Trying the Leinenkugel’s Oktoberfest today. Very good offering from the brewery out of Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin. Has a very nice lite brownish color to it and the flavor has a nutty finish with malt and plenty of hops to boot.
Food Pairing: I would love a brat with this beer! Brat’s with mustard, maybe some carmelized onion and some fries!
Rating: ****
Very good Oktoberfest offering from J. Leinenkugel Brewery. I would recommend this beer to you if you like pretty much any other Oktoberfest offering from another brewer. It has more body and is a bit heavier than the Warsteiner Oktoberfest that I reviewed a few weeks ago. All in all, good beer!

Today is Bell’s Oberon Ale day! I have had this beer before but had forgotten how good it was. It has a very smooth creamy taste with just a bit of the Ale bite that I always seem to reference. The beer is from Comstock, Michigan and is now starting to pop up all over the country in a very short amount of time.
Food Pairing: I can taste some amazing grilled shrimp right now! You know, blackened seasoning with a lemon wedge! Awesome!!
Rating: ****1/2
The Bell’s Oberon is a great light Ale with hints of fruit and hops. Very refreshing and not too heavy. It’s actually their summer seasonal offering but is brewed year around do to it’s growing popularity. If you enjoy the Samuel Adams Summer Ale or Leinenkugels Sunset Wheat then you would definitely enjoy the Bell’s Oberon Ale.

So after attempting to giveaway a free BeerGuy t-shirt to the person that guessed what beer this review would be on now it’s time for me to tell you what I think of the Dos Equis Lager.
I really like this beer. It is one of my favorite Mexican cervazas. With it’s refreshing flavor and little after taste, it makes for one hell of a lager and beer for that matter. It has a nice Pilsner flavor and even tastes great without the traditional lime wedge that you would put in most Mexican beers.
Food Pairing: Ummm… Mexican food??!! Anything like tacos, enchilidas, skirt steak goes great with this beer!
Rating: ****1/2
Yes you saw that right, 4 1/2 stars baby! I would recommend this beer to anyone who like Corona, Tecate or even your traditional American beers like Miller Genuine Draft and Budweiser.
